CoDa 21

This studio picture is part of a series of studio action portraits of the dancers of CoDa 21. It was created using several strobes to freeze the subjects in one frame. Due to the excellent physical conditions of the dancers we just asked them to jump several times to get the final image. Cartier-Bresson was inspired by this old quote: “There is nothing in this world that does not have a decisive moment.” – Cardinal de Retx, 17th century. There is always a turning point (decisive moment) in the picture that can not be delegated to the motor drive of your camera… This photo, done with a 5D Mark II and the EF70-200 f/2.8L IS USM, was shut with the stage available light at 2500 Iso at f/ 2.8 with a focal lenght of 150 mm, shut at 1/200 sec.(Photo © J.
